Our Commitment
KRUUSH, operated by Kruush Wellness LLC, is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to make our content available to the widest possible audience.
We believe that every woman going through perimenopause deserves access to accurate health information, regardless of ability. Our accessibility efforts are ongoing, and we welcome feedback from our community.
Standards We Follow
KRUUSH aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user friendly for everyone.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA, and AAA). We have chosen Level AA as our target because it addresses the most common barriers for disabled users without making the content overly restrictive.
What We've Done
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard. A "Skip to main content" link is available on every page.
- Screen reader compatibility: We use semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and proper heading hierarchy to support assistive technologies.
- Color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratio requirements (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Focus indicators: Visible focus rings are maintained on all interactive elements for keyboard users.
- Alt text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text.
- Responsive design: Content reflows properly at all screen sizes and supports zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Custom accessibility panel: A built-in accessibility widget (bottom-left of every page) allows users to adjust text size, contrast, line spacing, color saturation, motion, link visibility, reading guides, and font choice without requiring browser extensions.
Accessibility Widget
We provide a custom-built accessibility panel on every page (the icon in the bottom-left corner). It includes:
- Vision adjustments: Text size scaling, high contrast mode, color saturation control, and link underlining
- Reading aids: Adjustable line spacing, dyslexia-friendly font (OpenDyslexic), and a reading guide that follows your cursor
- Motor support: Enlarged click targets and reduced motion mode
Your preferences are saved locally and persist across visits. You can reset all settings at any time.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations:
- Third party content: Some embedded content from external services (e.g., affiliate product links, external research links) may not fully meet accessibility standards. We cannot control the accessibility of third party websites.
- Complex data visualizations: Some charts and interactive data displays on our research pages may be difficult to interpret with screen readers. We provide text-based summaries alongside all data visualizations.
- PDF documents: If we publish downloadable reports, PDF accessibility may vary. We aim to provide HTML alternatives where possible.
- User-generated content: Community posts and reviews submitted by users may not always meet accessibility standards. We encourage accessible formatting but cannot guarantee compliance for all user contributions.
We are actively working to address these limitations.
